About The Founder

Anselm Rosario

Anselm Rosario is the Founder/Director of Mythri Sarva Seva Samithi (MSSS). He is also a founder and heads WASTE WISE TRUST (WWT), WWM&CS, MYFINS Microfinance which are subsidiaries of MSSS. Anselm Rosario is a pioneer who promoted Decentralized, Community based Solid Waste Management, involving the residents group and integrating waste pickers in the late eighties. He is the recipient of “Ashoka Fellowship” from Ashoka Innovators for the Public, Washington, USA, and Environmental Award from Karnataka Pollution Control Board. He is also a trained teacher of Transcendental Meditation and Siddhi Technique, under His Holiness, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of Transcendental Meditation, at Rishikesh, Himalayas.Currently, he is promoting Integrated Sustainable Waste Management and Ecological Sanitation, in Bangalore Urban and Rural Districts. Started -1987 MSSS, began work in Bangalore with children living on street especially waste picking children to integrate them within the mainstream of the society and has grown to embrace multiple aspects of urban/rural poverty and environment. Its focus and expertise includes addressing issues related to waste picking families, child right activism, Women Empowerment, promoting micro-enterprise through Self Help Groups & Federations, community development, governance, Solid Waste Management (SWM), Ecological sanitation, Water and Sanitation in rural and urban communities.
