EDUCATION – OUR PATH TO PROGRESS—PANVEL ZP SCHOOL
2021-05-15
Majority of children from rural areas are first generation learners. Apart from poverty of parents which forces many children to drop out of school after Class VII, a large number of children also drop out because they are unable to cope with their studies. The pandemic has caused untold hardship to these families. Men who were daily wage earners have lost their jobs because many small business units are closed. Women are unskilled and uneducated cannot find menial work either. Children roam around anxious and hungry since parents can barely provide one meal to them.

Particularly in communities where women are not well educated and have limited skills, they are unable to enter the fields of various economic activities. In such communities, women are burdened with family and house-hold responsibilities and the environment discriminates against them.Empowering women has become the key element in the development of an economy. With women moving forward, the family moves, the village moves and the nation moves. Hence, improving the status of women by way of their economic empowerment is the need of the hour. The proposed project is aimed at promotion of women empowerment through gender mainstreaming. This will be done through promotion of women participation in capacity building and skills training's
