Mission

Establish full-fledged Sustainable and viable shelter/rehabilitation center,Drop outs, Working Children, Street children and Children in crisis with special needs. Additionally provide basic services and integrate them into their families and thereby the main-stream of the society. The initial phase of covering 200 children would be operational by May 2016.
Ensure all such children, belonging to the 6-14 years age group enjoy their Right to Education and bring every out of school child in to school. Show More

About The Founder

Mr Gopinath R

Mr. Gopinath R-had experienced different types of hardships during his own childhood. Together, they started Sparsha Trust in 2005 with the aim to improve the lives of the street children and other vulnerable kids.

Their work started in a cow shed, working in the field with the children trying to understand the root cause of their problems and trying to resolve their issues. Over a period of time, the growing team of Sparsha Trust introduced various programs that included contact points, open shelters, day care centres and multi-dimensional development residential centre for children. Summary

Sparsha Trust is a charitable organization started (registered) in 2005 by a group of motivated young people, who want to contribute to the betterment of society through education of children. At that time most of the team members of Sparsha Trust had just completed their Masters of Social Work, and they were moved by the government surveys data that had indicated that there were about 11 lakh (1.1million) children who were out of school in Karnataka. This was also the time of an economic expansion of Bangalore where IT and other industries had started to establish their activity and as a result, there was large scale migration people with diverse backgrounds into the city. The present team members of Sparsha Trust observed the condition of the needy children in Bangalore where they found hem to be involved in begging, rag-picking, child labor, child trafficking etc. They had started working for the cause of needy children. After a few months of working, they felt a need to give a formal structure to their activity and as a result, Sparsha Trust was born. The aim of the organization has been to ensure that children have access to education and not be denied of it because of conditions of deprivation / want etc. The Trust has been active in the field of children’s education through projects which have been commended and recognized as innovative and sustainable.
