DEEPIKA AND SIKKA
Childhood friends Deepika and Sikka, holding hands and completing each other’s sentences sets a flashback of those innocent days of childhood when love and friendship didn’t have set boundaries and bias. With all giggling and laughter little Deepika talks about the beauty of Nepal and joyfully says she likes to go there for holidays. Deepika and Sikka are two migrant children in the Vathsalya’s day care school, whose parents do odd jobs here in Bangalore to make a livelihood. ‘I want to become a doctor and give injections to children with fever’ proclaims Sikka, who then nudges Deepika to talk about her ambition. ‘I want to…I want to become mummy when I grow up. Mummy who takes care of all children like my teachers here’ giggles Deepika. The shine in their tiny eyes and the dreams they behold can become reality with little help from you and me.
